To Dove Estates Administration, Staff, and Residents. Dad was so grateful to all of you for your friendliness, professionalism, and level of care. He was so pleased that nobody seemed to care about or talk about people's differences and that everyone, for the most part, just got along. He loved the level of independence that he and mom were able to maintain, while still being able to ask for help when needed.
Dad loved how accessible the whole facility was. Being able to take walks, inside or out, to keep up his waning strength as much as possible was very important to him. Spending time in the garden was the highlight of his experience. What a gift that was to him to be able to sink his hands into the soil.
The friendships he made were also very important to him. Having people to talk to who were walking a similar path made his journey a little easier to bare. We were all blessed by his life for 10 years beyond what medical doctors had predicted. He was a stubborn one and delighted in beating any odds.
